To cite an example the viranchinarayan temple in Bugda in the destrict of Ganjam.There are Ramayan and Krishnalila wall paintings inside the mathas It could be hardly twwo hundred years old.The mural paintinfs have great tradition in orissan style which is carried outwith pattachitra painting.In past the temple paintings are provided for educating the devotees with puranic and religious narrations. Now the mural paintings are getting more sketchy. The present generation of chitrakars have resor ted to copying the wall paintings and decorate inside the residence this type of unique sttyyle painting also is limited also as canvas(patta).
