Traditional Painting

I have earlier made a sample study on the tribal art and craft of the tribals of Orissa and it has been published under the title of Orissa Adivasi Chitrakala (Oriya) by the Academy of tribal dialect and culture in 1993.

During the Project work I have collected so many photographs of various tribal communities of their cultural implements, traditional handicrafts and have drawn paper sketches of musical instruments as well as well designed hand woven clothes etc.

After completing the project work, I have tried to develop the tribal wall painting how to commercialize through painting. I have participated as a teacher to taught the tribal school students about the fundamental drawings of tribal art. There are so many marketability items like greeting cards, calendar, show piece, marriage cards which are being used by public are introduced by me for the first time.

I have done a next survey work on pattapainting of Orissa associated with “ Adarsha” in the Year 2001. A number of articles about art and craft of Orissa has been published in various News Papers and Magazines. A book on painting theory entitled Odisi Chitra has been published in the Year 2007 by the Parampara, Raghurajpur. Another book has been recently published in the Year 2008 by the Adarsha entitled as Pattachitra and Pranay Satak a pictorial lyric book and Odissi Pattachitra in 2009.
